| | | | | | | This varied landscape was created by floods in 1421. The park is one of the most important freshwater tidal areas in Europe. The landscape of rivers, creeks, marshy woodland, willow beds, reed beds and serge grassland is mostly accessible by water. Visitors can explore the area by boat or canoe. The influence of the sea and rivers Maas and Rhine make this a very dynamic area with a rich diversity in flora and fauna. The park has a population of about 150 beavers.
